Drawing Home

Intro:
Home can be many things. It may be the place you sleep at night, it may be the people you can be yourself around, it may be the objects that make you feel safe. Ultimately, you are the only person who can determine what home means to you.
Step one: Surface material
This drawing will not be created on traditional art material, such as paper. You need to find and bring to class a material that relates to your notion of home. This material will be the surface on which you will create your drawing. What could this material be? A piece of siding, a roof shingle, a floor tile, an apron, a pillowcase, a lampshade, a board game⦠The possibilities are endless. But it should relate to your unique vision of home.
Step two: Subject of drawing
What you choose to draw will also relate to your unique vision of home. It may be architectural plans of your house. It may be a portrait of your mother. It may be a drawing of the inside of your bedroom. It may be a drawing of your favorite meal, or a fire in the fireplace, or your pet hamster. What you are
drawing is what you think of when you think of home.
Step three: Make the drawing
Armed with subject and surface for your drawing, you now have to determine what materials you want to use to execute your drawing (paint is not an option), what composition you will use, and how you want to display the drawing.
