Project: Transformation

Question:
What kind of transformations have you experienced in your life?

Overview:
For this project you will receive a piece of brown kraft paper roughly as long as you are tall. Your goal is to completely transform this piece of paper through a process of mark-making, deconstruction, and reconstruction.

Mark-making is the process of adding a material to a surface to change its appearance.
Tools: ink, pencil, paint, pastel, dirt, hair dye…

Deconstruction is the systematic breakdown of the original form of some object.
Tools: scissors, exacto, hands, blender, paper shredder…

Reconstruction is the reassembly of individual parts into a whole.
Tools: glue, staples, needle and thread, clamps…

The ground rules are these:
You may not dispose of any part of the paper.
There must be evidence of all three methods listed above.
The paper will be completely transformed by the end of the process.
